Sport 4 Life UK is proud to have partnered with Intercity to provide two young people with the opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience, helping them develop the confidence, skills and knowledge needed for their future careers.

The work experience placements gave the young people the chance to experience life within a leading technology business, taking part in day-to-day activities, meeting professionals from across the organisation and building an understanding of what a future career could look like.

Throughout the placement, they were able to contribute to real pieces of work, gain insight into different roles and develop important workplace skills such as communication, teamwork and presentation.

The opportunity forms part of Sport 4 Life UK’s ongoing commitment to connecting young people with employers, helping to bridge the gap between education and employment through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

One of the young people who completed the placement reflected on their experience, saying:

“I really enjoyed my work experience at Intercity. Everyone was so welcoming and made me feel part of the team from day one. One of the highlights was sitting in on a meeting with an international colleague, where I had the opportunity to introduce myself and have a conversation with her. I also really enjoyed creating a PowerPoint presentation, which gave me the chance to put my skills into practice. It was a fantastic experience that has helped build my confidence and given me a better understanding of the workplace.”
