Change lives in 3, 2, 1…

Relay for VY

In 2021, VJ Patel tragically lost his life to COVID-19, leaving behind a legacy of passion for sport and youth empowerment. To honour his memory and the values he stood for, Stephen Day took on an incredible fundraising effort, raising over £11,000 for Sport 4 Life UK. This heartfelt tribute not only celebrated VJ’s life but also ensured his passion would continue to inspire others.

Thanks to Stephen’s generosity, these funds have supported crucial programmes focusing on personal development, employability, mentoring, and sports. These initiatives have made a lasting impact, empowering hundreds of young people across our region to build better futures. VJ’s legacy lives on through the lives being transformed every day, a testament to the enduring power of his vision and the community that rallied together to honour him.

Gateley

Gateley’s dedication to supporting our mission means so much to us, as their efforts directly contribute to creating opportunities for young people. This commitment was exemplified through their recent cycling event, where riders took on the challenge of either a 50 or 70-mile route through the Staffordshire countryside.

The event wasn’t just a test of endurance; it was a powerful display of teamwork and shared purpose. Gateley’s fundraiser was a collective drive to make a difference, showing how small actions can create significant, lasting change when people come together. We are truly grateful for Gateley’s continued support and their dedication to empowering young people in our community.

Aston University

Students from Aston Business School showed incredible dedication by fundraising for Sport 4 Life UK. They organised and participated in a range of activities, including football tournaments and even a challenging climb up Snowdon, all to support our mission of transforming young lives through sport and personal development.

Speaking about their efforts, Vadim Savin, a first-year BSc Business Enterprise Development student at Aston University, said, “We chose to fundraise for Sport 4 Life because we can see the difference they make to young people in our local community.” Their commitment to making a positive impact highlights the power of collaboration and the importance of supporting local organisations.
