We’re delighted to have been awarded £401,000 by the Big Lottery Fund for our sports-themed personal development programmes. These programmes will be delivered in the deprived inner-city area of Ladywood and support young people who are at the margins of society and who are NEET (not in education, employment or training). The four year project will support over 720 young people through activities such as sport, on-to-one mentoring, training & qualifications, formal mock interviews and social action. As a result, young people will improve their key life skills (team-work, communication, behaviour, motivation, self-esteem) and employability, and ultimately, have the opportunity to successfully progress into education, employment and training.
“We’re absolutely delighted that the Big Lottery Fund have continued their support of our work and investment in our organisation. We’re very committed to tackling Birmingham’s high youth unemployment rate and the challenges young people are facing on a daily basis. This grant forms and integral part of our delivery and so will bring tangible positive change to the city.”
