Sport 4 Life UK hosted a Community Festival in memory of Kane Balogan,a 14 year old participant on Sport 4 Life programmes and a talented rapper. Kane died when the car in which he was a passenger crashed into a tree last October.
Kane’s Day which took place at Saltley Leisure Centre, brought together people from the local community, to celebrate the life of Kane Balogun. The day featured a football tournament for all age groups, MC-ing, and fundraising for a memorial fund in Kane’s name.
Kane’s Aunt, Anne-Marie Sadler said of the community festival, “Today was about him (Kane), coming together for Kane and celebrating what he loved to do.”
Leon Moses, Education Coordinator at Sport 4 Life said “Today was a day for everyone that knew Kane and his family to come together and celebrate his life.I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who supported this event in memory of Kane.”
